Exciting opportunity for an energetic sales professional in the Glendale, CA market who can appreciate representing an upper upscale hotel. Embassy Suites by Hilton Los Angeles/Glendale is searching for a candidate with direct Hotel Sales experience as a DOSM or a seasoned Director of Catering/Events. This dynamic Director of Sales & Marketing, to lead our professional Sales & Catering team while representing the hotel. Must be a passionate Sales Director with a proven track record that demonstrates passion & ability to drive the team revenue to meet financial goals. Looking for a hands-on Sales Director who will have selling responsibility.

In the heart of Glendale, CA, just a short drive to the Glendale Galleria and the Americana, you will find Embassy Suites Glendale. This Glendale, CA hotel is providing easy access to some of Southern California's most popular attractions. After undergoing a re-modernization in our rooms/suites, the meeting space and event venues have a subtle, yet impactful design identity showcasing textures, patterns, and color palettes that hint back to the surrounding natural elements. The various meeting and event spaces feature custom chandeliers and custom design carpet. No detail was overlooked while designing this iconic property. The resulting renovation is sure to spark interest, generate curiosity, and enhance the guest journey. We are looking for an inspiring, authentic and determined leader to join us in our journey.

The Director of Sales and Marketing will lead the strategic planning and execution of the Sales Department's goals and objectives. Utilize prospecting skills and strong business sense to consistently exceed room night and revenue goals. Recruit, deploy, motivate, support and grow a team of Sales Managers to do the same. Develop and work within the stated budgets. Report and critique all Group Sales activities to the General Manager. Enliven the Embassy Suites by Hilton Brand Standards within the Department and the hotel. Support all Corporate and hotel initiatives as needed.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of sales experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Prefer to have prior Hilton, specially Embassy Suites experience
  • Proven track record of a consistent ability to exceed sales goals.
  • Previous sales leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel for sales prospects
  • Strong emphasis on details, communication and organization skills.
  • Aggressive negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close business with high conversion ratio.
  • Effective sales skills to up-sell products and services
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with public and fellow team members
  • Hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as required and the applicant must maintain a flexible schedule
