Role Overview

YourCode is seeking, on behalf of its client, a Sr. Data & Analytics Architect to bear responsibility for designing, implementing, and supporting scalable data solutions across transactional and analytical systems. This individual will provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams and stakeholders, ensuring the data architecture aligns with both operational and strategic business goals.

This role includes data warehouse design, architecture development, analytics implementation, data sourcing, and transformation. The architect will leverage modern data engineering practices and tools to define efficient processes that ensure data systems meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Driving the roadmap for data engineering, business intelligence, advanced analytics, and AI/ML enablement; 

Designing and maintaining a modern data Lakehouse architecture using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks (Python, SQL), dbt (SQL, Jinja), and Power BI; 

Developing and optimizing OLTP and OLAP database structures; 

Promoting adoption of medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold) and seamless integration between OLTP and OLAP systems; 

Establishing patterns and standards for data modeling (e.g. Kimball dimensional design) and transactional system design (e.g., SQL Server, DB2); 

Delivering data and analytics products to both internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on accuracy, performance, and regulatory compliance.

Ensuring adherence to data governance policies and standards, including those covering personally identifiable information (PII), PCI DSS, and other compliance frameworks; 

Building and supporting ETL solutions, using SSIS and/or Azure Data Factory; 

Designing, developing, and managing conceptual, logical, and physical data models;

Reviewing SQL queries for performance and scalability; 

Managing automated data jobs and metadata repositories;

Performing impact analysis of changes to data structures;

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field/equivalent professional experience;

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, analytics, or data platform roles;

Skills & Knowledge:

Proficiency with Azure Databricks (Python, SQL, Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables), Azure Data Factory; 

Strong command of dbt (SQL, Jinja) and Power BI for data transformation and reporting; 

Deep understanding of:

OLAP: Dimensional modeling (Kimball); 

OLTP: Database design in platforms such as SQL Server and DB2;

Familiarity with Git/GitHub, CI/CD practices, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform); 

Experience with data security, governance, and compliance (e.g., SPII, PCI DSS, SOC, GDPR), especially in regulated industries; 

Proven ability to translate data insights into business value; 

Demonstrated success in platform modernization and data infrastructure scaling; 

Expertise with MS SQL Server, SSIS, and advanced SQL optimization techniques; 

Ability to analyze business needs and translate them into functional and technical specifications; 

Experience working with data lakes, data warehouses, and data migration strategies; 

Knowledge of mainframe systems and DB2 is a plus; 

Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments; 

Strong understanding of ITIL, Agile, SDLC, and DevOps methodologies; 

Willingness to provide on-call support as part of a rotation; 

Experience preparing analytics environments for AI/ML workloads and real-time analytics; 

Ability to enable secure data sharing and third-party integrations; 

Strong awareness of current data and analytics trends (e.g., real-time analytics, open data formats, AI assistants, compliance tech);
