Join the NYU Meyers Research Team as a Post-Doctoral Associate and contribute to impactful health policy and aging research. This position is embedded within a federally funded mixed-methods study examining the effects of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) on staffing patterns and health outcomes among nursing home residents with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD).

The Post-Doctoral Associate will lead and support the design, execution, and dissemination of research aimed at improving long-term care resilience and workforce outcomes. The role offers the opportunity to independently drive scientific inquiry, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and engage in research activities that shape national policy and care standards for aging populations. Mentorship will be provided to foster the scientist's professional growth and further prepare them for a successful research career.

Responsibilities:

• Support day-to-day project administration, including scheduling, IRB communications, and coordinating with collaborators and nursing homes.
• Assist in managing project timelines, deliverables, and compliance with funding requirements.
• Help coordinate team meetings, maintain study documentation, and ensure adherence to research protocols and deadlines.
• Support participant recruitment efforts, including outreach, screening, and coordination with nursing homes.
• Conduct qualitative interviews for PPP awarded nursing home staff.
• Conduct qualitative data analysis (coding and interpreting data) using the PPP data.
• Manage and analyze research data using appropriate statistical software and methodologies.
• Contribute to the writing of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications both through lead authorship and co-authorship.
• Present research at scientific conferences and professional meetings.
• Collaborate on the development of external grant proposals.

Contract and Salary:

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $65,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer. This is a full-time fixed-term position for 1 year with potential for renewal based on performance and funding.

Travel and Supplies: This role provides a budget of $1,000 for travel expenses and $500 for supplies to support your dissemination efforts. This funding is designed to cover conference registration fees, travel costs, and any necessary materials for your presentations.

• A Ph.D. in Public Health or equivalent doctoral degree in nursing, behavioral science, or a related field by the start date.
• Strong qualitative background in research methodology, including study design, data collection, and statistical analysis
• Familiarity with analyzing quantitative data using statistical software packages such as STATA, SPSS or SAS.
• Excellent scientific writing and oral communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to prepare manuscripts and present research findings clearly and concisely.
• A track record of scholarly productivity, including publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to work effectively within a research team.
