Choice Floors & Stairway is searching for an experienced Machinery & Building Technician to join our team in Largo, MD As a Machinery & Building Tech, you will report directly to Operations Management and be responsible for conducting preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment, perform assigned emergency and unscheduled repairs on various types of equipment and handle assigned tasks in the general upkeep and repair of our entire facility.

It is important that the applicant can work in fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects at once. The ability to prioritize is required to be successful in this role The primary focus of this role is to eliminate downtime and increase our productivity.

What you'll be doing:

  • Performing preventative maintenance on all tools, machinery and building as well as emergency / unscheduled repairs as needed
  • Work closely with the Production Management team to schedule repairs to be performed, while avoiding interference with production productivity
  • MUST follow all safety protocols and ensure all equipment is properly guarded, and in good repair
  • Respond to all assignments promptly – must be able to prioritize tasks from most important to least important
  • Strong electrical and mechanical background REQUIRED
  • Assist with the preparation and installation of new equipment / old equipment removal
  • Research and develop plans for optimizing use of equipment & replacement of aging equipment
  • Read and follow instruction manuals to troubleshoot, contact outside resources when necessary
  • Help maintain inventory of tools and equipment by monitoring inventory levels and communicating when levels are low or depleted

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Education: High School Graduate
  • Industrial machine maintenance & repair
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds
  • Strong electrical background
  • Building maintenance & repair
  • Professional machine AND building maintenance experience
  • Ability to work in a faced paced environment and under pressure
  • Team player who's willing to take on unexpected tasks as they arise
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish/English) STRONGLY encouraged to apply

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55, $75,000.00 per year
