Job Description:

We are seeking a head pastor to join our leadership, sharing responsibility for overseeing, and shepherding the congregation of Hoover Christian Church. Full time or part time. This position involves leading worship service, preaching and teaching, ministering, and shepherding a loving and close congregation. Overseeing church programs and be available to provide counseling when needed. Officiating religious ceremonies, weddings, baptisms, and funerals. Willing to visit church members in their homes and in the hospital, as well as the infirmed.

Qualifications:

A follower and believer in Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God. One who has given his life willingly to God and been baptized in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. One who believes that Jesus came to this Earth, lived a perfect life, gave himself willingly as a sacrifice on the cross to bear the sins and punishment of all mankind, and then rose from the dead, conquering sin and death itself so that through the resurrection of Jesus, we have forgiveness, grace, mercy, and eternal life with Him.

Holds to the standard in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, 1 Peter 5:1-4, and Ephesians 4:11-16

Strong understanding of biblical scripture and theology and willing to teach an eager congregation.

Belief that the Bible is the living word of God. Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timthoy 3:16-17, Isaiah 40:8

That communion is a powerful reminder of the significant sacrifice that Jesus has made for us and the important of participating in communion. Matthew 26:26-28 and Luke 22:19-20

Humble, approachable, and dedicated to serving the needs of the church

Be willing to minister in the community, invite people to church, help grow the church congregation, and win people to faith in Jesus Christ

That will listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit to help lead our congregation

Be humble and of good moral stature

Committed to and in agreeance with the great commission from Jesus in Matthew 28:16-20

Prefer graduate from a Christian college or Bible college. New graduates welcome

Salary: Part time: $30,000 a year Full time: $50,000-$60,000a year. Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Profile of Hoover Christian Church:

Located 30 minutes north of Kansas City, this church was originally established in 1885 as Todd's Creek Christian Church. The church changed its name in 1970 to Hoover Christian Church and has been a place of worship for many in the area for generations. This is a country church between Smithville and Platte City, MO. This country church has been recently renovated with a new sound system, lights, and multiple projector systems. The fellowship hall attached to the sanctuary is used as a place for dinners, gatherings, and many more social events. Outside is a large, covered area that is used for similar gatherings. This is a warm and welcoming church family set to helping others find Christ and to help each other grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ.
