Summary of Job Duties:The IT Project Managers work closely with IT leaders and key stakeholders in managing the project lifecycle, managing resources, and executing projects within Information Technology Services and managing stakeholder and business unit relationships throughout the University. We seek candidates who will lead the advancement and maturity of project management practices and provide mentorship and consultation to the campus community to advocate and advance the project management skillsets.
The IT Project Manager II role will be responsible for leading medium to large projects for the IT project management office and managing them within the enterprise project management tool; working cross-functionally and collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and technical teams to: ensure scope is explicitly defined and documented; developing and revising project plans that incorporate all stakeholder SLA's; identifying and driving project related issues to a resolution; ensuring project tasks are completed according to established timelines, adjusted when needed, and delivered in a quality manner; coordinating with and managing vendor deliverables; lead status meetings and report on all aspects of projects throughout the project lifecycle; provide technical and analytical guidance to project teams by applying established methodologies in project management, process improvement, and cost analysis.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in management, business, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education
Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.
- At least two years of experience successfully managing enterprise-level IT projects
- Familiar with Business Analysis and/or Change Management as evidenced by application materials
- Familiar with Agile (Scrum and Kanban), Iterative, and waterfall project management processes as evidenced by application materials
- Demonstrable experience creating and maintaining project documentation including, but not limited to schedules, work breakdown structures, issues and risks assessments, budget reporting, follow-up reports, team communications, and overall project reporting
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP, ScrumMaster, Business Analysis, Change Management, or similar certification
- Experience with principles and practices of quality assurance and risk management
- Effective process improvement experience
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) 4 certification(s)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience and skills communicating proactively with team members and stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Ability to work in an environment where processes are being defined and contribute to overall development and improvement of project management processes
- Ability to perform with strong attention to detail
