Responsible (daily) for admitting all patient types, taking payments, financial counseling, balancing cash drawer, compiling deposit tickets, backup duties for Switchboard operations and point of service collections.

Education and Formal Training: High School diploma or equivalent required. Medical office experience preferred, but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when dealing with people; uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgement, and a professional attitude when relating with patients, families, and co-workers at all times. Must have knowledge of medical office functions; be proficient in the use of computers, 10 key, faxes and copiers. Must be able to communicate proficiently, both in written form and verbally with all levels of customers. Must be able to read, interpret and explain legal documents, regulations and statues. Demonstrates a good understanding of quality improvement methodologies. Must be able to bend, lift, push, stand, kneel and carry at least 35 pounds. Must develop knowledge of current hospital emergency policies and procedures, fire, safety, disaster, and infection control policies
