Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve donor-recipient compatibility issues and provide complex reference and consultation support to hospitals and transfusion services.
  • Perform automated and manual testing on blood samples.
  • Coordinate receipt, transport, and shipment of patient and donor samples; document supply or equipment concerns.
  • Manage reagent inventory, including ordering, receiving, inspection, and preparation.
  • Identify and resolve testing irregularities; assist other technologists with complex problem-solving.
  • Consult with medical facility staff on complex serologic cases and support provision of special blood units.
  • Perform manufacturing tasks related to specialized blood products, as applicable.

Schedule:
Sunday–Thursday, 6:30 PM – 8:00 AM or 10:00 PM – 12:00 AM (3rd Shift)
No on-call; shift differentials available.

Compensation:
$28.37–$37.84/hour (DOE; negotiable)

Qualifications:

  • MT(ASCP) required.
  • Bachelor's degree in biological science or chemistry.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
  • MLT(ASCP) with 5 years of blood banking experience may be considered.
  • State licensure may be required based on location.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred:

  • BB(ASCP) or SBB certification and/or experience in a reference laboratory.

Physical Requirements:
Standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs; working in cold storage environments; use of PPE (lab coats, gloves, face shields); operation of various lab equipment.
