Yorktel is currently seeking a Purchasing Expediter responsible for timely execution of purchase orders to various vendors, negotiating deals, and communicating any issues, such as price discrepancies or long lead times, to project managers, sales, and sales coordinators. The role will also include updating purchasing reports and planned receipt dates.

This position reports directly to the Purchasing Manager, who will provide direction and support for day-to-day activities. The Purchasing Expediter will work closely with multiple teams and departments to ensure accurate products and inventory to meet client requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare purchase orders (including negotiating pricing) and send copies to suppliers.

Respond to internal department and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations, and notify sales or project managers as appropriate.

Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other issues.

Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports, and price lists.

Track the status of orders and planned receipt dates.

Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedules.

Work with the Purchasing Manager to prioritize work and meet client and business needs.

Ensure vendors and suppliers are providing products and services as agreed.

Communicate regularly with internal departments to resolve concerns and achieve mutually desirable outcomes.

Assist with the coordination and planning of product delivery and inventory management.

Protect confidential information and exercise discretion and judgment based on company policies and procedures.

Adhere to York Telecom policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities

Strong knowledge and experience in inventory management

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Strong relationship-building skills, both internal and external

Ability to regularly follow up with vendors

Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills

High levels of professionalism, integrity, and customer service

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively and independently

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project)

Education & Qualifications

High School Diploma required

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience preferred

2–5 years of related experience

Experience working with multiple departments and vendors preferred

Additional Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Requires extensive sitting, standing, and walking.

Valid U.S. driver's license required.
