Job Purpose & Scope
Responsible for assisting the strategic expansion of the Bank's reach into diversified Commercial & Industrial (non-real estate) and sponsor backed banking as a trusted advisor to clients and prospects in an assigned market area.

Essential Job Functions

  • Implements management's strategic and tactical plans to ensure development and growth, business development productivity, and financial targets are achieved for assigned market area.
  • Builds successful relationships and develops on-going revenue streams to meet appropriate risk adjusted returns and targeted objectives.
  • Screens, proposes, and originates loans and other Bank products.
  • Delivers full bank relationships through effective partner engagements and cross-sells within Bank OZK; drives client referrals to the appropriate partnering lines of business for maximum client effectiveness.
  • Develops relationships with staff, clients, and financial partners across the Corporate Banking & Sponsor Finance ("CBSF"), Corporate & Institutional Banking ("CIB") and broader Bank to target high quality opportunities.
  • Assists in recruiting, training, and mentoring junior talent within department.
  • Identifies and informs management of impactful changes and acts on all assigned initiatives.
  • Represents the Bank in approved public relations activities and community affairs.
  • Regularly exercises discretion and judgement in the performance of essential job functions.
  • Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work.
  • Follows Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of finance and credit analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of lending activities and terminology.
  • Knowledge of federal and state lending and compliance regulations.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective leadership presence and credibility.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong business acumen and business development skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across functional and organizational groups and build business relationships to achieve the desired objectives of the Bank.
  • Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or job-related field, or commensurate work experience, required; Master's degree in job-related field, preferred.
  • Successful completion of a formal credit training program or equivalent work experience, required.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of work experience in commercial lending, corporate lending, sponsor finance, and/or enterprise value lending, required.
  • Demonstrated progressive experience in banking, lending, or finance, preferred.
