This is a full time position for a Floor Nurse 3pm-11pm requiring rotating weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate resident changes and updates to residents, families, and staff.
  • Take and follow procedures for new or changing orders, including contacting providers and responsible parties, transcribing into eMAR systems, and maintaining documentation.
  • Respond to incidents and complete necessary documentation.
  • Complete accurate and detailed nursing notes.
  • Provide assistance to case managers and the director of nursing in new admissions and readmissions
  • Communicate with additional nursing shifts on changes and needs of nursing office.
  • Assist in supervising, training, educating and supporting the care staff on best practices in resident care.
  • Manage resident doctor appointments and necessary follow up.
  • Ensure tasks assigned by the nursing director are completed as directed and in compliance with NYS DOH regulations.
  • Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration among staff members.
  • Engage with residents and families to address concerns and enhance quality of life.

Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Verbal and written English skills.
  • Skills with time management and professionalism .
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members.
  • Excellent leadership skills to guide and mentor care staff effectively.
  • Prior experience in senior services highly preferred.
  • Active LPN license
  • Complete medical physical exam, with TB test (provided by Tennyson Court)
  • Pass NYS Department of Health background check.
