Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. As a Home Health Aide, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting with daily living activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their overall well-being. This position requires a caring attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while following care plans.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any adverse reactions.
- Take and record vital signs to ensure clients' health is maintained.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.
- Support clients with mobility and transportation needs, including accompanying them to appointments.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions or preferences.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to healthcare professionals.
- Offer specialized care for clients with dementia or memory-related issues, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Skills
- Experience in home care or nursing home settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration and ability to follow medical terminology accurately.
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and understanding basic health monitoring techniques.
- Familiarity with home community care practices and resources available for clients.
- Compassionate approach towards providing dementia care and memory care support.
- Ability to cook healthy meals that cater to individual dietary needs.
- Certification in CPR is highly desirable to ensure client safety during emergencies.
- Competent for bedbound patients
