The position will report to the Director Sourcing, Major Projects. Primary responsibilities are sourcing, contracting and category management of equipment and labor contracts for projects managed by the Project, Management and Contraction's (PMC) organization.This is the fourth level of the Sourcing classification hierarchy. Employees at this level solve complex solutions, plan and manage work, develop and strengthen internal and external relationships, and provide leadership to others with minimal supervision and increased latitude for unreviewed work.Responsibilities Plan, develop and execute sourcing strategies for equipment and EPC contracts, which ensure reliable and safe deliveries on schedule and at a competitive cost for Gas Plant generating facilities.Perform market analysis and research best practices successfully adopted by other industries and companies.Provide guidance to Business Unit and Supply Chain leaders on market conditions and sourcing options that will help us maintain a competitive position in the industry.Develop and manage supplier relationships and programs.Build and nurture client relationships, including executive level business interfaces. Mentor and assist in the development of sourcing personnel, processes, and procedures, exhibiting a leadership skillset.Required/Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree7 years related work experienceIn lieu of Bachelor's degree(s) AND 7 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 11 year(s) related work experienceDesired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Organization and Supply Management or Design EngineeringIn addition to desired degree, 10 years related work experienceCertified Purchasing Manager and/or Certified Professional in Supply ManagementWorking ConditionsHybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to the assigned Duke Energy facility. Office settingSome travel for plant and vendor visits, conferences, visits to other Duke Energy facilities and territoriesAdditional Preferred QualificationsGraduate DegreeC.P.M.
