Job Description

Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team. As a PTA, you will assist licensed physical therapists in providing quality rehabilitative care to patients. Your primary responsibility will be to help patients regain functional movement and relieve pain under the guidance of a physical therapist. You will work closely with patients, documenting their progress, educating them about exercises and treatment plans, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the therapy sessions.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans for patients
  • Work with patients to improve their strength, Mobility, and flexibility through therapeutic exercises and activities
  • Guide patients in performing exercises and activities correctly, providing hands-on assistance and encouragement
  • Monitor patients during therapy sessions, ensuring their safety and comfort
  • Educate patients about proper techniques for exercise and activities to maximize their progress
  • Document and maintain accurate and complete patient records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries
  • Collaborate with physical therapists to assess patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Provide support and guidance to patients in using assistive devices, such as walkers or wheelchairs
  • Clean and maintain therapy equipment and work areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in physical therapy techniques and treatments

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant Program from an accredited institution
  • Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant
  • CPR certification
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy and musculoskeletal system
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals
  • Empathy and patience to provide care and support to patients during their rehabilitation process
  • Physical stamina to remain on your feet for extended periods and lift/move patients as required
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records and other software for documentation
