Business Development Specialist

We are seeking a motivated Business Development Representative to drive growth in our OEM and H&I sectors within the Oil and Gas industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, developing sales strategies, and building strong client relationships to increase our market share.
This position is based out of our Houston location; candidates must be willing and able to travel up to 75% of the time.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the OEM, H&I, and O&G sectors.
- Conduct market research to understand industry trends and customer needs.
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, and strategic outreach.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Manage the entire sales process from prospecting to closing deals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential clients.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to secure favorable terms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sales strategies and product offerings with market demands.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years in a sales/business development type role (must be a hunter)
- Ability to capture market share quickly and position us as the preferred choice in H&I (Hydraulic and Instrumentation)
- Industry experience in Energy, Oil & Gas, LNG, Compression, or Semiconductor sectors
- Strong business acumen with a challenger mindset - someone who can lead the customer, not just follow
- Track record of winning share of wallet, selling value over price, and breaking into new applications
- Ability to quantify opportunities and convert them into profitable growth
- Uphold technical aptitude to engage OEMs, understand applications, and translate technical benefits into commercial wins
- Demonstrated ability in lead generation and technical sales
- Excellent negotiation and client relationship management skills
- Proficiency in market research and analysis
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients (~75% travel)
