Why you want the job and why it's awesome
We are looking for a dynamic Engineer to provide enterprise-wide Product Certification support critical for project execution. This engineer will provide support to Solar's Project Design Engineering and Business Management groups in Oil & Gas and Power Generation, as well as Package Systems Operations in the execution of sales orders. In collaboration with Project Design Engineers, the Staff Product Certification Engineer is responsible for ensuring product safety and compliance to rules and regulations, as well as listed codes and industry standards applicable to Solar's product offerings and applications, for national and international markets.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in quality documentation and a passion for ensuring global compliance.

What you will do:

  • Support the application of safety and compliance principles in the Product Certification process.
  • Research and develop a working knowledge of applicable codes & standards for both established and emerging markets (e.g. US, Canada, EU, Australia, EAEU, China, India, Brazil, etc.).
  • Develop a global perspective on product safety, product compliance and certification requirements to support team members in sales order execution activities.
  • Provide support to Package Design Engineering in support of production, manufacturing, and commissioning.
  • Support the preparation and release of certification documentation for global markets.
  • Coordinate with third-party certification bodies and auditors to ensure compliance with national and international standards.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Business Management, Package Design Engineering, and Quality to ensure timely and accurate documentation.
  • Maintain and improve documentation systems and databases (e.g. Certified Device List Tool and Database, SharePoint, Windchill)
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Certified Device Lists and related compliance records.
  • Exhibit solid communication skills (verbal and written)

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience in quality assurance, certification documentation, or engineering support roles will be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality documentation certification compliance, or engineering support in a technical environment

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Experience coordinating certification documentation and audits
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, deadline-drive environment
  • Familiarity with international standards and compliance documentation
  • Strong organizational skills across cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in tools such as SharePoint, Windchill, and Power BI

Summary Pay Range:
$76, $114,814.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
