Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Specialist to support our FAA/EASA-certified aircraft component repair station. This is a full-time, on-site role, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The right candidate will have hands-on experience with major carrier shipping platforms, professional packaging of high-value/fragile items, and safe operation of pallet jacks and pallet stackers. Compliance, accuracy, and attention to detail are critical in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Carrier-Based Shipping & Receiving

• Prepare and process domestic and international shipments using FedEx, UPS, and DHL online shipping platforms, including creating and printing shipping labels, scheduling pickups, and tracking shipments.
• Receive inbound aircraft parts and materials; verify packing lists, quantities, and documentation.
• Stage, palletize, and move shipments using pallet jacks and pallet stackers.

Packaging & Handling

• Professionally package aircraft components and other high-value/fragile parts in accordance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Select appropriate packaging materials and methods (e.g., foam, bubble wrap, bracing, boxes, pallets) to ensure safe transit.
• Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy, completeness, and condition prior to release.

Inventory Control & Documentation

• Accurately record receiving and shipping activities in ERP and/or inventory management systems.
• Maintain traceability by linking shipments to customer orders, part numbers, serial numbers, and required documentation.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist with cycle counts and periodic physical inventories.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to all FAA, EASA, OSHA, and internal safety and quality requirements.
• Follow company procedures for hazardous materials, export documentation, and controlled parts.
• Participate in required drug and alcohol testing and comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

To be considered, candidates must meet all of the following:

Shipping Platform Proficiency

At least 2+ years of hands-on experience using major carrier online shipping platforms (FedEx, UPS, and/or DHL) to:

• Create and print shipping labels.
• Schedule pickups.
• Track domestic and international shipments.
• Ability to describe and demonstrate typical shipping workflows during the interview.

Professional Packaging Experience

• At least 2+ years of experience packaging high-value, fragile, or regulated components for shipment.
• Demonstrated ability to select appropriate packaging materials and methods to ensure product protection and compliance.

Material Handling Skills

• Experience safely operating pallet jacks and pallet stackers (walkie rider/straddle stackers) to move and stage crates and large components.

Compliance & Testing

• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check, including drug and alcohol screening, and willingness to participate in ongoing testing in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations.

General Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality for a Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. schedule.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, safety-focused environment.
• Basic computer skills and experience using ERP or inventory management systems for shipping/receiving transactions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an FAA or EASA Part 145 repair station or other regulated aerospace/aviation environment.
• Prior certification or documented training in forklift/pallet jack operation and/or hazardous materials handling.
• Familiarity with export documentation (e.g., commercial invoices, air waybills) and international shipping requirements.
