We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Security Engineer to support the implementation of Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft 365 security tools for clients seeking compliance with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). This role involves assisting with the deployment, configuration, and tuning of cloud-native security solutions across Azure and Microsoft 365 to meet CMMC security requirements.

• Assist in designing and deploying Microsoft Sentinel environments tailored to CMMC practices and controls.
• Support onboarding of log sources from Microsoft 365, Azure resources, on-prem systems, and third-party security tools.
• Help implement security configurations aligned with CMMC Level 2 requirements (e.g., audit logging, incident response capabilities, access control).
• Participate in the creation of analytic rules, hunting queries, and dashboards in Microsoft Sentinel using KQL.
• Collaborate with security architects and compliance specialists to ensure technical solutions align with CMMC controls.
• Help document system architecture, configurations, detection logic, and compliance mapping for audit readiness.
• Support the configuration of Microsoft Defender tools (Endpoint, Identity, Cloud Apps, Office 365) to enhance visibility and protection.

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles and frameworks.
• Strong interest in compliance-focused security implementations.
• Exposure to SIEM tools and log management concepts.
• Good documentation and analytical skills.

• Microsoft SC-900 or AZ-900 certification.
• Familiarity with CMMC, NIST SP , or similar compliance frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Identity, or Office 365.
• Lab experience in setting up Sentinel or performing cloud security projects.
• Familiarity with KQL Queries
• Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell) for automation and configuration tasks.

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $66,100 - $109,500
