Description

The Accounting Associate will be responsible for processing vendor payments and cash receipts. This role will support accuracy of data entry, invoicing, and handling confidential information for the company and clients. Overall, these contributions will provide a strong service experience for JQI's customers and vendors.

Principal Responsibilities

  •  Processing invoices and vouchers
  • Maintaining accurate financial records
  • Administrative support to accounting team
  • Assisting with accounts payable/receivable tasks
  • Performing data entry and reconciliations 
Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong customer service abilities and positive attitude
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable using software with willingness to learn new software as required
  • Analytical and data-driven mindset
  • Detail-oriented, organized, consistent, and dependable
  • Familiarity with Deltek or similar software preferred
  • Enjoys working both autonomously and in a team environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize
  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

Education and Experience

  • 2 years post-high school education or high school diploma
  • 5 years of work experience in an office or 2 years of accounting experience preferred
  • Experience in the engineering and/or the construction industry preferred

Physical Requirements 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
