Required Degree: Applicants must have a master's degree, with either their bachelor's or master's degree in nutrition, dietetics, public health, or a related health field.

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience: We are looking for candidates with 2+ years working or teaching experience in fields related to public health and nutrition. We prefer candidates to have experience in international humanitarian service and have worked with regional/domestic/global nonprofits.

Duties/Expectations:

Teach NDFS 380 – International Nutrition (taught Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30-1:45pm.

  • Instruct students in person during designated class times
  • Provide office consultations and student mentoring (about 2 hours per week)
  • Prepare course materials (homework/projects)
  • Evaluate student work
  • Write and administer exams

Adjunct faculty do not attend faculty meetings and are not required to participate in research or citizenship responsibilities.

Course Description: In this course, students will learn the causes and consequences of malnutrition and nutrition transitions across the world. Students will learn to evaluate public health nutrition interventions and understand the role of health organizations and food systems in preventing malnutrition and chronic disease. Students will gain a deeper understanding of traditional Native and national diets and their relevance to health outcomes.
