Summary of Duties – The Fabrication Material Controller I plays a vital role in managing and supervising the physical inventory of materials, including Government Furnished Material, shop supplies, and office supplies. This involves processing items through the purchasing program and handling the staging and stocking of material based on task requirements and approved documentation. The role includes maintaining an orderly inventory system and issuing material to designated personnel. Additionally, this position supports Fabrication Shop Management by performing administrative tasks such as data entry, organizing and filing documents, handling correspondence, and other clerical responsibilities. The Fabrication Material Controller I uses computer systems to work with spreadsheets and databases, create reports, and develop various business-related documents. This role occasionally requires lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.Specific Description of Duties -Receives and inspects incoming materials, equipment, and supplies for accuracy and initial condition.Organizes the issuing, receiving, and delivery of materials to customers.Maintains a neat, orderly workspace environment.Verifies shipments against purchase orders to identify errors or omissions.Assists with physical inventory checks, research, and reporting discrepancies.Coordinates with Fabrication Shop Management, Supply Chain, vendors, and customers to resolve issues related to defective or unacceptable items.Applies knowledge of government, commercial, and international receiving procedures in accordance with FAR/DFAR and Prism Maritime LLC policies.Prepare reports.Supports creation and setup of monthly progress updates, briefings.Attends meetings and records minutes related to Fabrication Shop decisions.Performs tasks in alignment with company policies and procedures.Works overtime when required.Carries out additional assignments as directed to support the organization's mission and goals.Education / Specialized Training – HS diploma or GED is required.3 years' knowledge and skills regarding inventory processing and control.2 years' Deltek / Costpoint and SharePoint experience.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Data entry.Technical Writing.Material and Government Furnished Material.Strong written and verbal communication skills, well-developed.Interpersonal skills.Experience in maintaining stock.Possess or have ability to obtain forklift certification.Security Clearance – Clearance up to secret level may be required.US Citizenship required.Physical / Environmental Job Requirements –Physical requirements include the following:Lifting/moving up to and including 50 poundsIn performing these duties, you may be required to work outdoors.
