Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Transport Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of various driving techniques and the ability to operate different types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers.

Duties

  • Operate commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers for the transportation of freight.
  • Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other equipment as necessary.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Plan routes effectively to ensure timely delivery while considering traffic patterns and road conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours driven and mileage.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
  • Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Assist in the training of new drivers as needed.

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements for manual transmission, tanker, and flatbed preferred.
  • Proven experience in truck driving or delivery driver roles with a strong track record of safety.
  • Familiarity with operating various types of trucks including dump trucks and roll-off trucks.
  • Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is essential.
  • Experience with refrigerated trailers is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of freight handling procedures and route driving techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
