Description of Position:
The Finishing Machine Operator is responsible for applying various non-hazardous chemicals, dyes, coatings and other finishing treatments to narrow woven fabrics. The position is responsible for operating and monitoring various equipment to ensure efficient production and high-quality production results.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepares machines for operation by applying all appropriate settings according to product specifications and shop order instructions.
Properly mixes chemicals according to defined formulas and ensures they are applied correctly to the fabric and in accordance with all specifications.
Monitors, maintains, and regulates equipment controls to maintain specified heat, pressure, and speed settings.
Reports production information such as fabric yardage produced, temperature, pressure, and speed readings.
Observes display screens, control panels, equipment, and fabric entering and exiting the machine to determine if the equipment is operating correctly.
Notifies supervisors of equipment malfunctions and needs.
Maintains the Finishing Department by performing daily cleaning and organizing of tools and other materials used. Reports all daily production results and transaction information in ERP system.
Understands and consistently follows all Quality System and safety protocols and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
High School degree or equivalent is desired.
Must have good organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
Must have a basic understanding of computers.
Must be able to communicate in a professional manner
. Must be able to read, write, and have basic math skills.
Must be able to read a ruler, standard/ metric caliper, and use a calculator.
Must be able to comprehend and perform special instructions when necessary.
Preferred to have basic technical knowledge of coatings and/or painting processes
Work overtime as needed.
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
