*Overview:
Coastal Health is seeking a detail-oriented
EHR/EMR Analyst
to support our Director of Health Information Technology. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on training, technical support, and assist with the implementation and maintenance of our
Athena EHR*
and Practice Management systems.

*Key Responsibilities:*

  • Provide end-user and provider training on Athena EHR/PM software
  • Analyze workflows and identify process improvements
  • Support software updates, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with vendors for system optimization and issue resolution
  • Develop and maintain training materials and documentation
  • Assist with reporting and data collection for clinical and administrative needs

*Qualifications:*

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health IT, Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in a healthcare setting; experience with EHR/PM systems required
  • Licensure/Certification: EHR or IT system certification preferred (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and healthcare compliance standards
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

*Preferred Skills:*

  • Familiarity with Athena EHR/PM systems
  • Experience developing reports and supporting data-driven decision-making

*Qualifications*
Education and Experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of current trends and developments in health information technology as defined by healthcare reform, HITECH act and HIPAA security rules
  • At least 5-7 years experience in a healthcare setting
  • Current certifications in EHR or IT systems, or ability to become certified within 6 months of employment

Computer Skills

  • Knowledge of electronic health records principals; implementation or upgrade support a plus
  • Familiar with Citrix or other Virtual Desktops, Athena
  • Familiar with clinical data and financial reporting a plus

  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, email and verbally to both high level and low level employees
  • Ability to effectively implement new policies and procedures
