Marketing & Author Relations Coordinator

Type: Full-time, in-person (Charleston, SC)

Role

The Marketing & Author Relations Coordinator will play a key role in expanding Palmetto Publishing's author marketing department, including the Social Media Service and broader marketing initiatives. This role bridges creative execution, analytics, and author communication-helping authors bring their marketing strategies to life through coordinated content creation, paid ad management, and data-driven campaign analysis.

This is a client-facing, detail-oriented position ideal for someone confident on calls, organized under deadlines, and thrives under pressure in a fast-paced, driven, and data-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery calls and manage onboarding for new authors joining the author marketing program.
  • Execute ongoing social media strategies, coordinating content creation, scheduling, asset collection, and engagement.
  • Manage Meta ad campaigns (creative briefing, ad copy, monthly reporting, and vendor coordination).
  • Build, analyze, and present detailed social media performance reports across author accounts and internal channels.
  • Manage internal social media content for Palmetto Publishing's brand channels.
  • Maintain client relationships through clear, timely communication and excellent service.
  • Assist with PR, influencer partnerships, podcasts, and award submissions when needed.
  • Contribute to the sales process by participating in discovery calls and helping convert leads to clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing or social media management.
  • Proven experience in content creation and analytics.
  • Experience in a marketing or creative agency is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager, social scheduling tools, and performance reporting.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Confident, sales-oriented, and comfortable speaking directly with clients.
  • Experience with influencer partnerships and/or PR efforts is a plus, but not required.
