Your Mission: To Develop and Inspire Our Most Valuable Asset

As a Ready Mix Instructor, you will own the training journey for our Ready Mix Operators and serve as a cultural leader for the entire regional team. You will be a mentor and a champion for our values, ensuring every team member has the guidance and support to build a long and successful career with SRM Concrete.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Be the First Impression: Identify and interview top-tier driving talent, recognizing the potential in every candidate to become a long-term member of the SRM family. You will be the face of our commitment to quality and people.
  • Launch Careers: Lead an engaging, comprehensive, and inspiring orientation for all new hires within your region, grounding them in our culture and our 5 Principles: Safety, Quality, Kindness, Cleanliness, and being a Go-Getter.
  • Lead the Leaders: Mentor, manage, and develop our elite team of plant-level Trainers. You will equip them with the tools and techniques to develop safe, skilled, and confident Operators across your region.
  • Drive the Candidate Experience: Serve as the central point of contact for candidates, coordinating with our recruiting and HR departments to ensure an excellent, seamless qualification, onboarding, and training experience.
  • Be a Hands-On Partner: Travel throughout your region to connect with your teams, assess training effectiveness in real-time, and provide the direct support and coaching that builds trust and drives performance.
  • Champion Our Culture: Act as a steward of the SRM Concrete values. You will be instrumental in building a healthy and effective workplace where we Appreciate, Recognize, and Encourage every team member. You will help cultivate our "Go-Getter" spirit and "We Say Yes" approach, empowering our people to reach their full potential while serving our customers in excellence.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • A Passion for People: You have proven experience in a role where you were responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, or leading others. You thrive on seeing people succeed.
  • Innate Leadership: You know how to build trust with new team members, deliver constructive feedback with empathy, and inspire confidence in those who are learning new skills, never wavering from the SRM standard.
  • Industry Credibility: While not required, a current or past Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is highly preferred. Your firsthand understanding of the role will give you instant credibility with the operators you'll be developing.
  • Tech-Savvy Communication: You are proficient and comfortable using technology, including email, calendars, and web-based platforms to review candidates, schedule interviews, communicate updates, and manage training rosters for each plant.
  • A Culture Builder's Mindset: You have a deep understanding of what makes a workplace great, and you are proactive in your approach to building and maintaining a strong company culture.
