Brief: The Lead Cook is responsible for coordinating activities of cooks to ensure that all given tasks are completed in a timely manner. Lead Cooks must be able to complete a prep list and delegate direction to the team. Lead Cooks will be tasked with opening or closing the building, as well as ensuring the dishwashing area is maintained. Lead Cooks are responsible for enforcing food health and safety standards, in addition to upholding and executing company recipes.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Setting up, cleaning, and organizing work stations
  • Preparing and cooking ingredients according to food health and safety standards
  • Able to evaluate a prep list and establish priorities of prep items
  • Appropriately seasoning items
  • Adhering to company recipes and procedures
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Check quality of ingredients
  • Actively communicating for safety and for kitchen needs
  • Wiping, sweeping, mopping
  • Dishwashing when needed
  • Assisting on the service line on occasion

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Consistent availability. If availability changes, lead responsibilities will change.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
  • Able to bend, move, and lift up to 50 lbs or more
  • Physical endurance to stand for an extended period of time
  • Experience as a cook a plus

Reports To: Sous Chef, Assistant General Manager, and General Manager

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
