Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week 

Salary Range:

$85,000 – $105,000, based on experience

Position Overview:

ASK Energy is seeking an Energy Engineer to support commercial and industrial energy efficiency programs. This role will primarily focus on reviewing custom energy projects and assisting Senior Engineers with various ad-hoc energy projects. The ideal candidate is passionate about energy efficiency and sustainability, has strong problem-solving skills, and possesses a solid understanding of energy efficiency programs, retro-commissioning (RCx), and commercial HVAC systems. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough energy audits and assessments to identify opportunities for energy savings.
  • Prepare written analysis and recommendations for energy efficiency, demand response, and self-generation measures for client submittals.
  • Conduct site inspections and/or collect data to perform energy-related analyses of facilities and equipment including capital, RCx, O&M, and behavioral opportunities.
  • Use analytical tools and M&V methodologies to evaluate energy systems and equipment performance.
  • Review energy savings calculations in accordance with program rules.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and clients to meet project deadlines and budget requirements.
  • Conduct thorough energy audits and assessments to identify opportunities for energy savings.
  • Develop and implement energy management strategies and projects.
  • Manage project scheduling and ensure timely completion of engineering tasks.
  • Analyze data collected from various sources to inform decision-making processes.
  • Engage in research activities to stay updated on emerging technologies in energy engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Energy Systems preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Basic understanding of demand-side management, supply-side management, load shifting, and demand response.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, lighting, motors, and other commercial and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, equipment nameplate, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Understanding basic thermodynamic concepts such as system efficiency and conservation of energy.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, and maintenance instructions.
  • Strong technical writing skills for reports and professional correspondence.
  • Basic understanding of statistics, linear regression modeling, and measure-based energy analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must have reliable transportation; occasional travel to customer sites may be required.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within teams while demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills will be critical for success in this role.
