Job Description

AECOM's Water Business Line is actively seeking a Water Resources Engineer for employment in the Houston, Texas office. The successful candidate will work with Project Managers and other technical disciplines on all project phases to deliver a flood risk, stormwater, and resiliency projects. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with a variety of exciting, challenging projects locally and worldwide.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to

  • Performing complex Hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling
  • Serving as a technical reviewer, advisor and mentor
  • Developing technical reports and plans
  • Supporting project management efforts
  • Supporting team, subconsultant, and client coordination and management efforts

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related field and 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Professional Engineering license in Texas or ability to attain within six months of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in water resources engineering
  • Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
  • Background in flood risk analysis, stormwater management, watershed planning, and drainage design.
  • Willingness and aptitude to develop into a Project Manager or Technical Leader role.
  • Proficiency in software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, XPSWMM, PCSWMM, Infoworks ICM
  • Experience with projects for clients such as Harris County Flood Control District, Texas Water Development Board, Texas General Land Office, FEMA, Texas Department of Transportation, Harris County Engineering, San Antonio River Authority
