Overview

As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals across various settings. You'll work with patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics, helping them regain independence through tailored therapeutic interventions. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing effective care plans, ensuring that each patient receives personalized support to meet their unique needs.

What you'll do

  • Assess patients' physical and emotional needs to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to promote independence and enhance daily functioning.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive discharge planning and case management.
  • Provide therapy in diverse environments, including acute care, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health settings.
  • Utilize your knowledge of anatomy and physiology to guide therapeutic techniques and interventions effectively.
  • Work closely with individuals with disabilities and autism, employing early intervention strategies tailored to their specific challenges.
  • Document patient progress meticulously and adjust care plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Engage in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in occupational health and therapy.

Basic qualifications

  • Valid Occupational Therapy license in your practicing state.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology related to therapy practices.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working in outpatient settings.
  • Understanding of speech therapy and co-treat experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with case management processes and discharge planning protocols.
  • Previous experience in school systems or pediatric therapy environments is advantageous.
