Description
Cx Project Manager I holds overall responsibility for assigned projects of low to medium scope and complexity. Duties include planning and executing a specific project plan, delivering quality products and services to the client in a timely manner, managing project financials, and serving as the primary contact between the SSR project team and the client. The Cx Project Manager I ensures that projects are executed according to the plan and is responsible for the results of assigned projects (total Project Success).

Essential Functions

  • Completes the project scope and requirements with the client and other stakeholders and communicates project scope and requirements to the project team
  • Prepares and implements a proactive Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plan for projects
  • Oversees the profitability of the project by negotiating fees and contracts as may be appropriate, participating in the budgeting process, and ensuring that invoices are accurate and delivered in a timely manner
  • Identifies, negotiates, and administers fees for additional services
  • Schedules work, communicates schedule information to the project team, and monitors manpower requirements
  • Facilitates communication between the client and the project team; documents important issues
  • Coordinates activities of the project team and contractors during the design and construction phases
  • Performs project job site visits to investigate field conditions, monitor progress, and ensure conformance to design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes during construction
  • Performs specific engineering studies and other design analyses using industry software
  • Coordinates with other disciplines to determine equipment needs, implement operating procedures, and provide technical information
  • Monitors accounts receivables on projects and initiates corrective action as needed
  • Supervises the job close out process to ensure documentation, lessons learned, and filings are complete
  • May participate in planning and budgeting processes, which includes preparing monthly billing projections and budget metrics as required by management
  • May assist management in the training and mentoring of less experienced colleagues within the Cx group

Knowledge, Skill, And Ability Requirements
KNOWLEDGE

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) software
  • Knowledge of project approach and systems design
  • Knowledge of the engineering discipline of his/her expertise
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Knowledge of construction procurement and design development processes
  • General knowledge of accounting and how to create and maintain budgets

  • Written Communication Skills – ability to clearly deliver a message through written words using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation

  • Technical Writing Skills – skilled in the area of summarizing or explaining technical information in a clear, concise, and accurate way, communicating the point intended
  • Presentation Skills – effective in a variety of presentation settings both inside and outside the organization; commands attention and can manage group processes during the presentation; can change tactics midstream when something isn't working

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Five years related project experience
  • Professional Engineer Licensure preferred

  • Requires the ability to climb stairs and move around a job site for several hours at a time
