Responsibilities

  • Efficiently wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools to uphold health and safety standards
  • Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and work areas to promote a hygienic environment
  • Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping or assembling ingredients under supervision
  • Support banquet and catering setups by ensuring all serving ware is clean and ready for use
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to manage dish flow during busy service times, preventing delays
  • Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and compliance with health regulations
  • Contribute to a positive team atmosphere by maintaining a proactive attitude and supporting fellow staff members

Skills

  • Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key
  • Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting heavy items, and bending
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and organization
  • Experience in food service or catering environments is a plus, especially banquet or hotel experience
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced setting
  • Basic understanding of kitchen operations including bussing, food preparation, and serving
