QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Five (5) years of progressive experience in fleet maintenance, including heavy and light-duty vehicles.
  • Minimum two (2) years of supervisory or lead technician experience in a fleet or repair shop environment or combination of education, training.
  • And/or work experience equal to or higher than the requirements listed above as determined by Human Resources.

Licenses or Certifications:

  • Possession of an appropriate driver's license for equipment operated and any license, training, or certification required by law or regulation to complete assigned tasks.

JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Fleet Supervisor plays a vital role in the daily operations of the City of Pensacola Fleet Garage. This position assists the Fleet Supervisor in coordinating and supervising the maintenance and repair of a mixed fleet of heavy trucks, equipment, and light-duty vehicles. Responsibilities include overseeing Heavy-Duty and Light-Duty Mechanics and providing Direct supervision to Parts Procurement Specialists, Maintenance /Tire Technician and Auto Body Technician — as well as acting as the primary backup to the Fleet Supervisor during their absence. This role ensures all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies. Performance is evaluated based observed and attained results.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIO

  • NSAssist the Fleet Service Supervisor in overseeing all fleet mechanics in the daily planning, coordination, and execution of fleet maintenance and repair activitie

  • e.Provide input to support budget planning. Provide direct supervision to procurement specialists, fleet maintenance/tire technicians, auto body specialists, ensuring productivity and adherence to standard
  • s.Monitor employee performance by offering guidance, support, training, mentoring, and conducting evaluations to promote professional growth and operational excellenc
  • e.Enforce safety policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality control standard

  • y.Coordinate with Parts Procurement Specialists to ensure availability of parts, timely ordering, accurate parts requisition and maintain optimal inventory levels and Assist with parts room organization, cost control efforts, and support audits as require
