Role Summary
The
Senior Sales Manager
is a full-time, on-site role based in the NYC Metropolitan Area. This position is responsible for driving revenue through group and transient sales, managing key accounts, leading sales initiatives, and strengthening client relationships. The role requires strong leadership, communication skills, and a strategic mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sales efforts for group and transient rooms; identify, solicit, and close new business.
- Manage client relationships, conduct site inspections, prepare proposals, and oversee all sales documentation.
- Develop and execute sales strategies, promotions, and market-specific action plans.
- Attend client events, FAMs, tradeshows, and industry functions to expand brand presence.
- Coordinate with hotel operations to maximize occupancy, rates, and profitability.
- Prepare RFPs, contracts, and turnover materials accurately and on time.
- Analyze market trends and competitive activity to optimize revenue opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Call Center Reservations team and support administrative audits.
- Assist the Director of Sales & Marketing with budgeting, forecasting, and special projects.
- Maintain or exceed assigned sales goals.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales management with a history of meeting revenue targets.
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-relationship skills.
- Ability to identify new business opportunities and conduct market research.
- Hospitality experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; fluency in English (additional languages a plus).
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of hotel operations.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
