Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Supervisory Role
Job Overview:
You will oversee a team of nursing staff, ensuring equal distribution of duties and fostering a collaborative, team-oriented environment. This position involves monitoring patient care, managing staff, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to address residents' needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign and oversee staff duties in accordance with established policies, ensuring fair distribution of workload.
- Support staff in delivering high-quality care to residents within acceptable timeframes.
- Perform regular rounds to assess residents' health and care needs, addressing concerns promptly with the appropriate team members.
- Communicate resident care concerns to the Director of Nursing in a professional and timely manner.
- Receive shift reports from charge nurses and prepare comprehensive shift reports for the Director of Nursing.
- Manage and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and addressing performance issues as needed.
- Foster a culture of accountability, autonomy, and responsibility to enhance resident care.
- Ensure that resident care standards are adhered to and delegate tasks accordingly to meet those standards.
- Collaborate with charge nurses to assess and adjust care plans based on residents' changing needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate resident care plans clearly and professionally.
- Provide health education to residents and families, ensuring clear understanding of care instructions.
- Demonstrate clinical competency in assessing residents' physical, emotional, spiritual, and psychological needs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare teams, including physicians, to provide comprehensive care.
- Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures and demonstrate safety awareness in all aspects of care.
- Complete monthly quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) activities and monitor pharmacy recommendations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the residents and facility.
Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- At least two years of supervisory experience in long-term care or a related nursing field preferred.
- A minimum of three to five years of nursing experience in long-term care or a similar healthcare setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and staff.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet productivity standards.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects using proper techniques and assistance when necessary.
- Capability to assist with the transfer and movement of residents, including those who require full assistance.
- Manual dexterity and coordination to use medical equipment and perform nursing tasks with precision.
- Competence in performing necessary documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage a variety of activities simultaneously.

- Experience in long-term care or a similar healthcare environment.
