Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Store Manager to oversee daily retail operations at our location. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management. This role involves managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining inventory accuracy, and driving sales growth. The Store Manager will be instrumental in creating a welcoming shopping environment while achieving operational excellence and sales targets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise store staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating employee performance
  • Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize sales potential
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Implement sales strategies and promotional activities to meet or exceed sales goals
  • Maintain accurate cash handling, POS transactions, and bookkeeping records
  • Coordinate purchasing decisions and manage vendor relationships for inventory procurement
  • Develop staff schedules, manage shift coverage, and monitor labor costs
  • Conduct employee orientation sessions and ongoing training & development programs
  • Utilize management skills such as negotiation, budgeting, and marketing to optimize store performance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Utilize organizational skills to keep the store clean, organized, and efficiently stocked

Experience

  • Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervisory responsibilities
  • Strong background in retail sales management, inventory management, and customer service excellence
  • Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math calculations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive work environment
  • Familiarity with merchandising, pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and stock management
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
  • Prior experience in recruiting, employee orientation, training & development is preferred
  • Knowledge of administrative tasks such as payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and organizational skills is advantageous
