Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Store Manager to oversee daily retail operations at our location. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management. This role involves managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining inventory accuracy, and driving sales growth. The Store Manager will be instrumental in creating a welcoming shopping environment while achieving operational excellence and sales targets.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise store staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating employee performance
- Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize sales potential
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Implement sales strategies and promotional activities to meet or exceed sales goals
- Maintain accurate cash handling, POS transactions, and bookkeeping records
- Coordinate purchasing decisions and manage vendor relationships for inventory procurement
- Develop staff schedules, manage shift coverage, and monitor labor costs
- Conduct employee orientation sessions and ongoing training & development programs
- Utilize management skills such as negotiation, budgeting, and marketing to optimize store performance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Utilize organizational skills to keep the store clean, organized, and efficiently stocked
Experience
- Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong background in retail sales management, inventory management, and customer service excellence
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math calculations
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive work environment
- Familiarity with merchandising, pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and stock management
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Prior experience in recruiting, employee orientation, training & development is preferred
- Knowledge of administrative tasks such as payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and organizational skills is advantageous
