Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced Part-Time PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) to support our healthcare clients in achieving and maintaining PCI DSS compliance. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in PCI DSS assessments, strong knowledge of healthcare environments, and the ability to provide both leadership and quality assurance across multiple engagements.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead PCI DSS assessments for healthcare organizations, including scoping, evidence review, testing, and reporting.
- Provide subject matter expertise to clients on PCI compliance requirements and best practices tailored to healthcare environments.
- Perform quality assurance (QA) reviews of assessment work performed by other QSAs to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to PCI Council standards.
- Collaborate with engagement managers and technical teams to resolve complex compliance or scoping issues.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of PCI templates, methodologies, and process improvements to enhance delivery efficiency.
- Stay current on PCI DSS updates, Council guidance, and emerging trends in payment security and healthcare data protection.
Qualifications:
- Current and active PCI QSA certification in good standing with the PCI Security Standards Council.
- 5+ years of experience performing PCI DSS assessments; healthcare sector experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of related security frameworks (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, HITRUST) and their intersections with PCI DSS.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills with a commitment to accuracy and professionalism.
- Ability to work independently in a part-time role, flexible capacity while delivering high-quality results on tight timelines.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud-based payment environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Background in IT risk, auditing, or information security consulting.
Pay Range: Dependent on relevant experience. Estimated Range: $80 - $100 per hour.
