two new engineering positions
to support our expanding Rear Body team. It's an exciting time to join Pierce as we continue to invest in our people and our growth. These roles are based on site at our Bradenton, Florida facility, where you'll have the opportunity to grow your career and make an impact.
The Engineer – Mechanical designs functional, reliable and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components. Perform engineering analysis and design or re-design, and development of components into existing and new vehicles.
Your Impact
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned:
- Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Pierce Manufacturing as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.
- Support senior engineers in the preparation of basic plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.
- Under close supervision, work on projects of limited complexity in a support role.
- Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.
- Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures.
- Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
- Perform and Directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
- Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.
- Provide non-complex technical assistance for production support.
- Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.
- Review technical documents, sales proposals, and data.
- Prepare reports and presentations.
- Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.
- Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering and communicate status via verbal or written communication.
Minimum Qualifications
- Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field along with Internship experience or six (6) or more months of related work experience.
Standout Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with a high-level CAD system. CATIA V5 preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems.
- Familiarity with a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Detailed oriented.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive or firefighting equipment and related systems.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or manufacturing support role.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal cross-functional teams.

- This position is based in a manufacturing or production environment and may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, moving machinery, or temperature fluctuations.
- The role may require standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, lifting items up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, climbing, or using tools and equipment.
- Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn when required.
- Visual and auditory acuity are needed for safe equipment operation and effective communication in a busy workspace.

Pay Range
$63, $101,700.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
