Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician (Plumbing Focus) is responsible for day-to-day repairs and upkeep of residential and commercial properties, with a strong emphasis on plumbing. This includes handling common plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, fixture replacements, and water heater servicing. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable supporting other general maintenance needs such as light electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plumbing Repairs: Handle day-to-day plumbing issues including leaks, clogs, running toilets, faucet and fixture replacement, water heater servicing, and minor pipe repairs.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine checks on plumbing and other building systems to keep them in good working order.
  • General Repairs: Assist with light electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repairs as needed.
  • Safety & Compliance: Work safely and follow proper procedures when handling plumbing systems and general repairs.
  • Inventory & Tools: Keep plumbing tools and supplies organized; track materials and request replacements as needed.
  • Documentation: Complete simple work orders and service logs to track repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Collaboration: Work with team members and property managers to ensure issues are addressed promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of handyman or maintenance experience, with solid plumbing skills.
  • Skills:
    • Comfortable with common plumbing tasks and tools
    • General knowledge of household repairs in multiple trades
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
    • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work in tight spaces, and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Plumbing certification or licensing a plus but not required
  • Experience in residential property maintenance
  • Ability to respond to emergency plumbing calls

Work Environment:
Work may involve exposure to plumbing materials, tools, noise, and varying indoor/outdoor conditions. Occasional overtime, weekend work, and on-call availability may be required.
