Rate: $80 – $90/hour
Contract Type: W-2 only, no visa sponsorships or subcontracting

Scope of Services

The Workday Test Lead will be responsible for leading the testing efforts related to the Time and Attendance module for the Workday implementation project. The role will oversee the testing process from planning through execution, ensuring that the system meets all business requirements and performs as expected in a production environment. This includes coordinating and leading test teams, developing test scripts, performing system tests, identifying issues, and reporting on test progress. The Test Lead will work closely with the project team, stakeholders, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure the highest level of testing standards and quality is maintained for the Time and Attendance functionality in Workday.

Role, Responsibilities & Deliverables:


• Test Planning & Strategy: Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements and Workday configuration for Time and Attendance.

• Test Execution & Issue Management: Lead test execution for various phases of the project, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for Time and Attendance functionality.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with functional leads, business users, and developers to ensure the Time and Attendance solution meets business needs and quality standards.

• Test Reporting: Document test results, track defects, and report progress to the project management team and stakeholders.

• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate test progress, risks, and issues to the project team and leadership on a regular basis.

• Defect Management: Ensure defects identified during testing are properly tracked, categorized, and resolved in a timely manner.

• Test Deliverables: Provide test documentation such as test plans, test cases, test results, and defect logs.

• Test Plans and Test Cases: Comprehensive documentation for test planning, including detailed test cases for Time and Attendance functionality.

• Test Execution Reports: Progress reports during test execution detailing the completion of test cases, defects found, and testing status.

• Defect Logs and Resolution Reports: A detailed record of defects identified during testing, including severity, resolution status, and verification of defect fixes.

• Test Completion Report: Final report summarizing the results of the testing phase, including key findings, successes, and any outstanding issues.

Required Experience:


• Workday Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Workday, specifically within the Time and Attendance module, including previous implementations and/or upgrades.

• Test Lead Experience: At least 5 years of experience leading testing efforts for large-scale HRIS or Workday projects, with strong experience in testing strategies, test management, and defect management.

• HRIS/Payroll Knowledge: Experience with HRIS and payroll systems, with an emphasis on Time and Attendance modules, is a must.

• Project Management Exposure: Experience working in an Agile or Waterfall project management environment. Experience in leading teams, coordinating testing schedules, and providing test reporting.

Key Skills:


• Testing Expertise: Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and practices, including manual and automated testing, functional, integration, and UAT.

• Workday Configuration Understanding: Deep understanding of Workday functionality and configuration for Time and Attendance.

• Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues in a timely manner.

• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into test cases.

• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information in an understandable way to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Collaboration Skills: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, developers, HR, and payroll teams.

• Tool Proficiency: Experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira, Quality Center, HP ALM) and defect tracking software.

Education & Certifications:


• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.

• Workday Certification is a plus.

• ISTQB Certification or equivalent testing certification is a plus.

• PMP Certification (or equivalent) is a plus.
