Estimator, West Coast (LA or SF)
UOVO, seeks a full-time Estimator to join UOVO's Account Management Team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, organization, analytic, and logistics-oriented skills and is comfortable working both collaboratively and independently in a results driven environment. In this pivotal role, you will be the bridge between our prospective clients' needs and our operational teams. You will be responsible for translating complex logistical challenges—from single-artwork shipments to complex multi-phased projects—into clear, accurate, and competitive proposals. This position is ideal for a logistics professional from the fine art world who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is driven to provide elegant solutions and exceptional client service.
Core Responsibilities
- Analyze the scope and cost of a wide range of fine art service projects including packing, crating, installation, viewings, as well as local, national, and international shipping.
- Prepare estimates with a focus on accuracy, responsiveness, cost effectiveness, and scheduling efficiency.
- Partner with the UOVO Business Development Team to estimate and plan the efficient movement of prospective client property into UOVO facilities.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for inbound service inquiries from a variety of prospective clients including galleries, museums, private collectors, artists, foundations, estates, and a wide range of other clientele.
- Collaborate with the UOVO Business Development Administrative Team to onboard new clients ensuring all required documentation is completed.
- Conduct and document site visits in the local area and assess project needs with collaboration and support of UOVO Operations Teams.
- Prepare, organize, and distill relevant project details including inventory lists, photo documentation, scope of work, materials lists, equipment needs, and inventory management expectations into clear and concise documentation for a seamless transition to UOVO's Operations Teams.
- Coordinate with third party vendors and partners to develop comprehensive client focused solutions.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation throughout all internal processes.
- Other projects as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in fine art logistics or related fields preferred.
- Understanding of industry standards for art packing, crating, and transportation required.
- Excellent written, verbal, and virtual communication skills, with a customer-service-oriented approach.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information, develop project plans, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite; comfortable learning new technologies and software.
- Must have the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, both remotely and in person.
- Frequent local travel and occasional regional travel required. Valid driver's license required.
