Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced
Virtual Server Administrator
to join a high-performance team supporting a major federal program in
Quantico, VA
. This role focuses on managing and maintaining a
virtualized Microsoft environment
while ensuring system integrity, availability, and compliance with DoD security standards.

The ideal candidate is a proactive IT professional with strong VMware and Microsoft server expertise who thrives in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain a
    virtualized Microsoft (MS) environment
    , ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Conduct daily system health checks, monitor events in management tools, and perform
    server patch management
    .
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve performance or availability issues across the virtual infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents and ensure seamless system operations.
  • Execute regular
    system audits, maintenance, and updates
    in accordance with security and compliance policies.
  • Apply
    change control standards, problem-resolution procedures
    , and remote management best practices.
  • Administer and support
    Active Directory (AD), clustering, DNS, and DHCP
    configurations.

Required Skills & Education:

  • Minimum 5 years
    of hands-on experience managing virtualized Microsoft environments.
  • Proven experience with
    VMware administration
    ,
    Active Directory
    , and
    Windows Server infrastructure
    .
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills for coordination in a secure, team-oriented environment.

Certifications:

  • VMware Certified Associate (VCA)
    – Required
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
    – Must obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II
    (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, or equivalent)

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
