Position Overview
The Catering & Sales Manager is responsible for generating new business, nurturing existing relationships, and executing a proactive sales strategy across catering, wholesale accounts, corporate clients, government institutions, and weekly meal delivery programs. This role combines outside sales, account management, and operational coordination to ensure seamless service and revenue growth.
You will be the face of Effortlessly Healthy for new and existing partners — from hospitals and corporate offices to fitness centers, schools, and community organizations — and will work closely with our internal production and delivery teams to bring high-quality meals to more people across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Contract Acquisition
- Identify, pursue, and secure new catering and wholesale contracts (corporate offices, medical institutions, government agencies, senior programs, schools, gyms, etc.).
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of high-value accounts with weekly and monthly recurring orders.
- Conduct on-site visits, tastings, presentations, and Lunch & Learn demonstrations to showcase EH offerings.
- Respond promptly and professionally to RFPs, proposals, and institutional bid opportunities.
- Track leads, follow-ups, and sales activity using CRM systems.
Catering Sales & Client Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for catering inquiries, proposals, event coordination, and ongoing communication.
- Upsell and cross-sell menu packages, seasonal offerings, and add-ons to maximize revenue per event.
- Ensure seamless coordination between client expectations and kitchen/production teams.
- Maintain strong relationships with recurring clients to increase re-orders and annual spend.
Wholesale Expansion
- Build partnerships with gyms, senior centers, bodegas, corporate cafeterias, and government facilities to place Effortlessly Healthy meals on-site.
- Coordinate new account onboarding, pricing, menu rotations, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor weekly inventory needs and communicate with production to ensure consistent supply.
- Analyze sales performance per location and develop growth strategies for each account.
Meal Delivery Growth
- Work with marketing and operations to drive increased subscription and retail meal delivery sales.
- Launch workplace meal programs, staff lunch programs, and preferred partner discounts.
- Represent Effortlessly Healthy at community events, pop-ups, and networking opportunities.
Internal Collaboration & Reporting
- Prepare weekly sales updates, revenue projections, and account status reports.
- Collaborate with the CEO, Production Manager, and marketing team to align sales goals with menu planning and operational capacity.
- Provide feedback on customer requests, market opportunities, and competitor insights.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in catering sales, hospitality sales, food service management, or business development.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits/client meetings.
- Knowledge of Tripleseat or similar catering/event platforms is a plus.
