Lead Toddler Teacher (Full-Time)

Location: Adventures with Rita Childcare & STEAM Academy — 4008 Pontoon Road, Granite City, IL

Hours: Monday–Friday, Full-Time

Compensation: Based on experience and education

Position Summary:

We're seeking an energetic, patient, and loving Lead Toddler Teacher to guide our growing toddler classroom. The ideal candidate will understand child development, create engaging hands-on experiences, and foster a warm, safe, and inclusive classroom community.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons for toddlers (ages 15 months–2 years).
  • Support social-emotional growth using Conscious Discipline strategies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Supervise classroom assistants and model best practices.
  • Maintain compliance with DCFS licensing and ISBE Preschool for All Extension standards.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet DCFS qualifications for Lead Teacher in Illinois (minimum of 60 college credits with 6 in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with toddlers required.
  • Familiarity with Conscious Discipline or similar SEL frameworks preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • A genuine passion for helping little learners grow and thrive
