Position Summary
The Maintenance Lead plays a vital role in maintaining the efficiency, safety, and organization of Gifthealth's fulfillment warehouse. This role is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on warehouse equipment and facility, monitoring facility systems and sanitation, as well as ensuring that all operational areas meet safety and compliance standards utilizing facility staff and third-party vendors.
Working closely with warehouse leadership and outside vendors, the Maintenance Lead supports daily operations by troubleshooting issues, maintaining facility equipment, and ensuring the warehouse remains a clean, safe, and productive environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates initiative, technical skill, and reliability while supporting the operational excellence that drives Gifthealth's mission.
Key ResponsibilitiesFacility & Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of warehouse systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Identify and repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components such as lighting, plumbing, HVAC, conveyors, and shelving systems.
- Implement and document preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies to support uninterrupted operations.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with warehouse leadership and external vendors as needed.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DEA, FDA, DOT, local fire department, internal safety department, and state pharmacy board safety standards within the warehouse and production area environments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free facility by enforcing safety procedures and best practices.
- Support safety audits and inspections by maintaining documentation and promptly resolving findings.
- Promote and model a culture of safety awareness and accountability across warehouse teams.
Operational Support
- Collaborate with warehouse and production leadership to identify maintenance needs and prioritize work orders.
- Assist with equipment installation, setup, and calibration as directed.
- Support facility projects, including layout changes, process improvements, and system upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and facility inspections.
- Provide guidance to other team members regarding proper use of tools, equipment, and safety protocols.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead by example in professionalism, reliability, and adherence to Gifthealth's code of conduct.
- Work cross-functionally with Safety, Compliance. Supply Chain, and Operations teams to support daily workflow.
- Communicate proactively with leadership regarding maintenance priorities, resource needs, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with third-party vendors that share our vision of excellence and safety.
- Lead a team of 6 to 10 associates that perform safety sensitive functions and regular maintenance and cleaning of the facility and equipment.
A Few Things About You
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3–5 years of general maintenance experience including basic plumbing, electric, drywall, etc.
- Minimum 1-2 years experience in a leadership position.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to train and coach individuals at varying experience levels.
- Proficiency in warehouse procedures and safety standards.
- Computer skills to communicate and maintain records digitally.
- Ability to follow and demonstrate standard operating procedures at all times.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, hand trucks.
- Minimum 1-2 years experience with operating and/or maintaining a tractor or yard truck and trailers.
- Experience writing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently to manage schedules and priorities.

Location: On-site (Columbus, OH Warehouse)
Schedule: Full-time; flexibility may be required for project coordination.
Meetings: Regular coordination with warehouse and other leadership teams.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, and move products up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- Physical ability to operate equipment and machinery such as pallet jack, hand trucks, forklift, and yard tractor (upon training and certification).
- Comfort with working in a warehouse setting, including exposure to various environmental conditions (temperature, noise, weather, etc.).
