Job Summary: 

The Senior Material Handler is responsible for proper handling, storage, receiving, inventory count accuracy, and material transfers from warehouse to production Line. The Senior Material Handler is also responsible for following all Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures which includes attending scheduled safety training, following housekeeping requirements, placing waste in designated containers, cleaning up spills, following operating procedures, and immediately reporting any injuries or incidents to the supervisor. This position also entails complying with all logistics standard operation procedures- documented and otherwise and collaboration with all Pasadena departments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years of shipping and receiving experience required
  • 3 years minimum of forklift loading and unloading
  • Experience doing cycle counts and end of runs for inventory
  • Computer experience required

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication at various functional levels
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Cross train and provide back-up for all Shipping & Receiving positions.
  • Unload, verify, and document all inbound shipments including Sage and SAP as required.
  • Confirm and/or upgrade material marking (item code, description, quantity, and UOM). 
  • Ensure that all material is wrapped and stored properly.  
  • Maintain storage rack utilization and accessibility.
  • Pull and deliver material to support production
  • Pull finished product from production, wrap pallets, and stage for shipment.
  • Conform to all EHS and OSHA regulations
  • Take initiative to learn and self-motivate while adhering to SBM Policies
  • Confirm end of run counts and reconciliation.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned.
