Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides to provide in-home care to two residents. Jim & Lisa's Circle Home is a comfort care home (part of ). The residence is a fully restored Victorian style home in The Rondout Historic District of Kingston. This role involves supporting individuals in hospice care with three months or less to live. The ideal candidate will possess strong caregiving skills, a respectful attitude, and a commitment to keeping residents comfortable and without undue stress or anxiety during this time. Experience with medication administration and palliative care is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference at the end of a person's life while working in a supportive and professional environment.

Duties

  • 12-hour day, night and weekend shifts are available.
  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
  • Monitor patient condition by tracking food and fluid intake, bowel movements, and overall health status.
  • Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring proper documentation in medical records.
  • Some experience with medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, catheters, and other assistive devices.
  • Meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs in accordance with dietary plans.
  • Housekeeping, including laundry and light cleaning.
  • Document patient care activities accurately using medical documentation standards while maintaining HIPAA compliance
  • Provide emotional support and companionship.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care plans are followed.

Experience

  • Prior experience in hospice, or home health care preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, and procedures related to patient observation and medication administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with people in hospice care in a home setting.
  • Strong communication skills for working effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Experience in the CDPAP system is a plus, although not required.

Salary Range

$20-25/hr, depending on experience. Begins as 1099 per-diem work. Opportunity to transition to W-2 employment after 3 months, if desired.
