This position requires competence in assessment, treatment, and/or care for the age groups indicated. The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training, or experience.

• Utilizing food production sheets, prepares food products in accordance with standards.
• Utilizes standardized recipes for food preparation and quality control for Patients, Café, Dr. Lounge, and Special functions.
• Establishes portion controls using standardized recipes. Able to adjust or modify recipes per production needs
• Maintains HACCP standards for sanitation in the preparation of all food products.
• Responsible for receiving vendors and insuring items are of the correct temp and quality.
• Maintains equipment and work areas in a sanitary and safe condition.
• Adheres to cleaning schedules for all equipment and food preparation areas.
• Provides routine maintenance of all equipment with reporting of problems to Manager or Director.
• Uses equipment in the kitchen effectively and safely.
• Follows standardized recipes accurately in preparing all food products.
• Utilizes principles of infection control and sanitation in the preparation, serving, and storage of food products.
• Utilizes basic mathematical calculations accurately in preparing food and figuring food cost per portion.
• Minimize waste to Maximize food Cost
• Utilizes appropriate safety and sanitation principles in the provision of services.
• Utilizes appropriate body mechanics in the moving and lifting of supplies and equipment.
• Utilizes appropriate precautions related to infection control in relation to maintenance of equipment, supplies, the environment, and personal hygiene activities.
• Communicates effectively verbally and in writing to fulfill position responsibilities.
• Actively participates in the Quality Improvement Program for the Department.
• Maintains own professional growth through appropriate inservice programs and other related education.
• In collaboration with the Manager, cook II establishes priorities for activities based on work demand.
