Extraction Technician

Job Overview: As a Solventless Extraction Technician, you play a pivotal role in supporting the execution of the extraction of frozen cannabis biomass into cannabis hash and live rosin for approved adult-use cannabis products. You will work in a highly regulated environment, ensuring the cleanliness, efficacy, and efficiency of our solventless extraction processes. Your adherence to standard operating procedures and quality control measures will be critical in maintaining the production of top-quality cannabis products.

Reports To: Solventless Extraction Team Lead

Key Responsibilities:

Solventless Extraction Process:

• Setup and execute the Solventless extraction process, under the supervision of department Lead of Managers
• Perform post-processing activities to refine extractants into packaged consumer-ready products

Facility Sanitation and Maintenance:

• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitization of the Solventless Areas according to established protocols.
• Ensure systematic cleaning and sanitization of production equipment, workspace, utensils, containers, and machinery.
• Assist with cleaning as needed throughout the facility and grounds

Quality Control and Compliance:

• Calibrate scales to ensure precise measurement of cannabis products.
• Conduct and record quality assessments as needed to ensure product consistency and catch deviations
• Input production data into e-systems as required and conduct frequent checks and audits of inputs to ensure data-integrity

Documentation and Labeling:

• Assist in the creation of batch production records and labels.
• Monitor the weighing, packaging, labeling, and documentation of all products, tracking batch numbers, lot numbers, and expiration dates.

Personnel Practices and Safety:

• Follow required personnel hygiene practices
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Partake in trainings/evaluations as required
• Strictly adhere to all applicable regulations and company procedures
• Collaboration and Support:
• Collaborate with the Lead Solventless Extractor and Quality Manager to ensure seamless operations across all extraction areas.
• Adherence to Regulations:
• Strictly adhere to New York State regulations and company standard operating procedures.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with solventless extraction (ice water hash and/or live rosin production) in a legal cannabis operation (medical, adult-use, or hemp/CBD).
• Strong understanding of solventless extraction fundamentals, including preparation, pressing, curing, and handling of frozen cannabis biomass.
• Familiarity with standard operating procedures and documentation practices in regulated environments.
• Experience maintaining sanitary workspaces and equipment in alignment with quality and safety protocols.
• High attention to detail and the ability to calibrate and monitor equipment with precision.
• Experience inputting and auditing production data for traceability and regulatory compliance.
• Effective communicator and collaborator with the ability to work cross-functionally with production, quality, and compliance teams.
• Ability to identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements proactively.
• Working knowledge of NYS cannabis regulations or willingness to learn quickly.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a production environment.

The wage range for this position is $23 -25, depending on experience.
