Florida Woman Care Laboratory is the diagnostic engine behind Florida Woman Care, the largest comprehensive women's healthcare practice in Florida and Georgia. As part of our commitment to excellence, the Histology Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring the lab operates efficiently and maintains the highest quality standards. This role oversees daily histology operations, coordinates staff workflow, and performs essential steps in receiving, processing, and preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination and analysis by pathologists. The Histology Supervisor also supports staff development, manages workload distribution, and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously develop GYN Histology Department with state of the art equipment and procedures.
  • Supervising multiple Histotechnologists, Grossing Technicians & Lab Assistants in the grossing and processing of GYN tissue biopsy specimens.
  • Prepare for CAP and other inspections.
  • Perform required compliance tasks including the interpretation of data generated from the LIS to track lab and individual Histotech performance.
  • Participate in other projects and perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in the field of Histotechnology
  • ASCP certification in Histotechnology required
  • Florida state licensure is preferred but not required
